Jaipur, July 22: Rajasthan’s biggest badminton event of the season is set to begin as the Rajasthan State Ranking Badminton Tournament will be held from July 23 to July 29 at the Indoor Badminton Hall, Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. More than 800 players from across the state are expected to participate in the championship, making it one of Rajasthan’s largest badminton competitions.
The tournament is being organised by the Jaipur District Badminton Association under the guidance of the Rajasthan Badminton Association (RBA). The official draw for the championship is scheduled for July 22 at 4 PM, after which players will begin competing in their respective categories.
The primary objective of the tournament is to identify Rajasthan’s top badminton talent and prepare the state team for the upcoming North Zone Badminton Championship. Players will earn their place in the state squad based entirely on their performances during the week-long competition. While the association has confirmed that the tournament will determine the Rajasthan team, the exact number of players to be selected has not yet been announced.
The championship is expected to feature intense competition among experienced and emerging shuttlers from different districts of Rajasthan. Beyond rankings, the event provides young athletes with an opportunity to showcase their skills before state selectors and take a significant step towards representing Rajasthan at the North Zone level.
With over 800 participants, the tournament highlights the growing popularity of badminton in Rajasthan and reflects the state’s continued investment in developing sporting talent. Sports officials believe the championship will strengthen Rajasthan’s presence in national badminton by identifying the next generation of players capable of competing at higher levels.
