MY Bharat Portal Emerges as a Digital Gateway for Youth Leadership and Nation-Building

The MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) portal is emerging as one of India’s largest digital platforms for youth engagement, connecting young people with volunteering, internships, experiential learning and leadership opportunities. Developed under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the initiative aims to encourage youth participation in nation-building by providing a single platform where they can discover and register for programmes that match their interests and skills.

Launched in October 2023, the portal targets young Indians by bringing together educational institutions, government departments, industries and social organisations. Through this digital ecosystem, registered users can explore opportunities in community service, sports, disaster response, environmental campaigns and skill-based activities while building practical experience beyond the classroom.

According to the latest government information, the platform currently offers more than 1.52 lakh volunteering opportunities across different sectors. These opportunities are designed to help young people develop leadership qualities, teamwork and civic responsibility while contributing to local and national development initiatives. The portal also supports internships and experiential learning programmes to improve employability and professional exposure.

Officials say the MY Bharat portal is intended to bridge the gap between aspiring youth and organisations seeking volunteers and young talent. By enabling digital registration and participation, the platform simplifies access to government programmes and encourages greater involvement in social development activities. Several states and districts are also strengthening registration drives to increase youth participation under the initiative.

With India having one of the world’s youngest populations, the MY Bharat portal is expected to play a significant role in creating a more engaged, skilled and socially responsible generation. As more educational institutions and partner organisations join the platform, the initiative is set to provide wider opportunities for young citizens to contribute to the vision of a developed and inclusive India while enhancing their own personal and professional growth.
